An amazing little girl with a big heart: Self-published author, 10, donates proceeds to charity

Samhridhy Gohain is no ordinary child. At the age of 10-years-old, the Curro Academy Pretoria student has already written and published her first book, titled: '3 Epic Adventures'.

Samhridhy's first book is a compilation of short stories, including: 'Jupiter the Space Frog', 'Adventures of Blisa the Kitten', and 'Are Aliens Real?'.

'An amazing little girl'

One of this talented, young author's inspirations was her father, Mukat Gohain, who passed on his passion for writing and encouraged her creativity and imagination.

As a result, Samhridhy began writing at the age of 7.

Samhridhy's parents further encouraged her fascination with stars and planets by buying her a telescope, influencing her stories, 'Jupiter the Space Frog' and 'Are Aliens Real?'.

"She is truly an amazing little girl," adds grade 3 teacher, Mary Brümmer, who both taught and inspired Samhridhy. "She has a fantastic sense of picking up the small things that you say and remembering it. For instance, I told her that my mother loved her stories and that her name is Lily and Lily is now part of the 'Jupiter the Space Frog' story too."

'She wants to make a difference'

Though her writing talent is extraordinary, what is truly moving is her thoughtfulness, as she donates all of the proceeds from the sale of her first book to Jakaranda Children's Home in Pretoria.

"She wants to make a difference," says Sangeeta Gohain, Samhridhy's mother.

"We are so proud of Samhridhy and all she has accomplished at such a young age. Her writing is inspiring," says Vivian Venter, Curro Academy Pretoria's Head of Primary School.

'3 Epic Adventures' is now available for purchase on Amazon.
